Gravity
Gravity Boarding Company was born in the Solana Beach garage of its founder, Michael Bream, back in 1994. As an avid surfer and skateboarder, Michael wanted a board that felt like surfing when he was skating. His Engineering degree showed him what he needed to do in order to turn this into a reality. And from there, he created the 47-inch Hyper Carve (lovingly called the “High-Performance Streetboard”).
As he let his friends ride it, Michael quickly realized the demand for a skateboard like this. He started selling them to local surf shops, but core skate shops were not interested in them because the longboards were too long. In just a very short time, however, the business picked up, and the boards Michael produced would later be known as “gravity skateboards”.
